§ Mr. Stokesasked the Minister of Economic Warfare whether the exiled Governments of Greece, Poland and Belgium, favour controlled food relief to the starving peoples in their native homelands; and what steps His Majesty's Government propose to take to initiate new schemes, or intensify existing schemes, to this end?
§ Mr. FootI do not know precisely what my hon. Friend means by "controlled food relief." But I have no doubt that the Governments of these countries would favour any system for helping their226W peoples which would not result instead in assisting the enemy and frustrating the Allied effort to free their countries. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to-day by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs regarding a scheme for the evacuation of children from Greece. Otherwise I have nothing to add to the answers which I gave yesterday.
