§ Sir J. Mellorasked the Postmaster-General whether he will give an assurance that where apparatus, duly declared, is impounded under the Electro-Medical Apparatus Prohibition Order, 1940, either it will be returned at the end of the war to the owner in the same condition as when handed over or compensation paid for loss or damage; and what steps are taken to protect such apparatus from deterioration while stored?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonCompensation would be paid for loss or damage due to failure of the Post Office to take reasonable and proper care of this apparatus, but I cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage due to other causes. The apparatus is stored in buildings where Post Office electrical apparatus is kept and this is the most suitable accommodation available.
