HC Deb 04 February 1942 vol 377 c1190W
Mr. W. H. Green

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether he will take steps to ensure that the large amount of scrap metal now lying in Woolwich Arsenal and other Royal Ordnance Factories is secured for his scrap metal campaign?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The scrap metal arising in the Ordnance Factories requires careful and expert sorting before it can be directed to consuming points. It is regularly disposed of through normal channels. The hon. Member may be assured that this metal is being secured for essential war purposes.
