HC Deb 04 February 1942 vol 377 cc1205-6W
Dr. Morgan

asked the Minister of Information whether he is aware that the present arrangements of the telephone-switchboard room at the Ministry of Information headquarters are medically unsatisfactory, contravening Rule 26 of the Post Office Rules; whether he is satisfied with the ventilation arrangements: and whether he will ask the Post Office medical staff to advise him with a view to improving his headquarters amenities up to the standard of the average Post Office telephone arrangements for its employees?

Mr. Bracken

I have consulted with officers of the General Post Office and the Ministry of Works and Buildings, and I am satisfied that the ventilation arrangements and other accommodation in this switchboard room are satisfactory and above the normal standard for exchanges in protected accommodation. No complaints have been received.
