§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Minister of Labour whether he will make a statement as to the prospects of an early settlement of the dispute at the North British Locomotive Company works; and, in view of the fact that the men did return to work in order to facilitate a settlement nearly two months ago, will he intervene further to settle the difficulty still outstanding and obtain concessions for the workers which may in fact end the dispute?
§ Mr. BevinThis dispute was in course of being dealt with under the agreed procedure of the industry when a further stoppage of work occurred. The trade union officials concerned and my officers are continuing their efforts to secure a resumption of work which will permit negotiations to continue.
