Mr. Owen Evansasked the Minister of Labour what is the status of the professional officers and heads of departments of the Welsh National Museum under the Schedule of Reserved Occupations; whether any changes have been made in respect of any, or all, of them; and, if so, what since the schedule was first determined?
§ Mr. BevinIt was decided in July, 1940, that the rules applicable to civil servants under the Schedule of Reserved Occupations should be applied to the staff of the Welsh National Museum. Last February the position of museum staffs generally was further considered and reservation was withdrawn except in the case of persons engaged in occupations such as scientific work for which an age of reservation is specifically provided.
