§ Mr. Wedgwoodasked the Home Secretary whether the decision to supply intoxicants in canteens for civilian workers was taken on the initiative of his Department; whether the demand came from any trades union and, if so, which?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonThe initiative in this matter came from the Service and Production Departments, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Works and Buildings, and the Ministry of War Transport. I am not aware that the matter was taken up by any trade union, but I understand that facilities were asked for by workers.
