§ Mr. R. Robinson
asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how the subistence allowance to civil servants on voluntary air-raid precautions duties compares with those accorded to voluntary air-raid precautions workers drawn from the public?
§ Captain Crookshank
As my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary announced on 22nd May in reply to the hon. Member for North Tottenham (Mr. R. C. Morrison) 1869W revised arrangements have now been authorised regarding subsistence allowances to part-time civil defence volunteers under local authorities. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of the rules regarding subsistence allowances to civil servants on voluntary A.R.P. duties in Government offices, recently agreed with the representatives of the staff, from which he will see that with minor differences broadly similar treatment is accorded.
