§ Mr. Thurtleasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the case of Richard Barrett, who was recently convicted and fined by the Peterborough magistrates for an offence under the Fire Prevention (Business Premises) Order; whether he is aware of the extenuating circumstances of the case and whether, as Barrett lacks the necessary financial resources to appeal against the conviction, he will review all the facts of the case with a view to remitting the fine?
