§ Mr. Butcherasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will give an assurance that where a vehicle has been impressed from an operator he will not sell the vehicle elsewhere without affording the original owner an opportunity to re-purchase at the price paid by the War Department, less proper allowance for depreciation?
§ Lieut.-Colonel Moore-BrabazonI have been asked to reply. Arrangements for the disposal of vehicles acquired by the Fighting Services are under discussion but, as at present advised, I do not think it will be practicable to give first refusal to the original owners if the vehicles are to be distributed to the best advantage in the national interest.
