Mr. Wilson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) the number of proof gallons of spirits, distinguishing from Imported and home-produced, and the number of gallons of imported and British wines retained for consumption in. Great Britain, excluding Northern Ireland, during each of the years ended 31st March, 1939 and 1940;

(2) the number of standard barrels of beer, respectively, retained for consumption in Great Britain, apart from Northern Ireland, during each of the years ended 31st March, 1939 and 1940?
