Mr. David Adams
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War 1070W Transport whether he is aware that the Great Western Railway Company are charging members of His Majesty's Forces at Oxford 4d. each for sandwiches consisting of one slice of white bread with a thin scraping of margarine and meat paste; and whether he will take steps to terminate this exploitation?
§ Colonel Llewellin
The sandwiches sold at Oxford station, price 4d., are "meat roll" sandwiches. The prices are the same for service personnel as for other travellers. There is a service canteen for troops using Oxford station.
