§ Sir R. Rossasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that the pensions of the older ex-members of the Royal Irish Constabulary are calculated upon the standard of living of 26 years ago and are now below the subsistence level; and whether, in view of these facts, he will authorise an increase in these pensions proportionate to the increase of the cost of living to these old servants of the State?
§ Sir K. WoodI would refer my hon. Friend to the last part of the answer which I gave to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Armagh (Sir W. Allen) on 8th August last.
