§ Captain CrookshankReports have recently been received of the circulation1236W of forged Bank of England notes in Switzerland and the matter has been referred to Scotland Yard for investigation. My hon. Friend will appreciate that I am not in a position to make any public statement as to the origin of these forgeries but I should say that the few specimens of forged Bank of England notes which have been received in this country in recent months are all easily recognisable as forgeries.
