§ Captain WaterhouseI have been asked to reply. I am aware that there is a shortage of clog soles. This is due to the heavy increase in demand for clogs and to the difficulties of the firms concerned in obtaining the increased labour necessary. The Board of Trade and the Ministry of Labour are ascertaining how many clog-sole cutters have in fact left this industry and what steps should be taken to correct the position.
