§ Captain WaterhouseI am informed by the chairman of the Cotton Board that the Director of the Colour, Style and Design Centre established by that Board is Mr. J. Cleveland Belle. Mr. Belle was formerly a fashion expert and buyer in the retail trade, and he was appointed to a position on the staff of the Board under the same conditions as are applicable to all other members of the staff. The Schedule to the Cotton Industry Act, 1940, provides that appointments to the staff of the Cotton Board, and the remuneration to be paid, are matters for the Cotton Board to determine.
