§ Mr. Gledhillasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that recent cases of unauthorised use of Army vehicles have resulted in injury to civilians, for which no redress is available; and whether he will take such action as to prevent such unauthorised use of any vehicles in future or, in case of accident to a third party, to secure some ex gratia payment?
§ Mr. LawStrict instructions have been issued in order to prevent the unauthorised use of Army vehicles, but I am aware that cases of the kind referred to in the Question arise from time to time. The payment of compensation from Army Funds is considered in the light of the facts in each case.
