§ Brigadier-General Clifton Brownasked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in the event of war damage to farm buildings, cattle sheds, etc., he will secure priority claims for repair material or see that instructions are given to the responsible local authorities to do so in order that the production of milk and other important foodstuffs may not be impeded?
Mr. HudsonSpecial arrangements have already been made for local authorities to release without delay the materials required for first aid repairs to buildings generally, including farm buildings. Materials for permanent repairs are released by the regional licensing officers of the Ministry of Works and Buildings. These officers have been instructed to consult the County War Agricultural Executive Committees in regard to farm buildings so that I think my hon. and gallant Friend can rest assured that the interests of food production will be fully safeguarded.
