HC Deb 21 March 1940 vol 358 c2135W
Mr. Levy

asked the Minister of Labour whether special arrangements are being made for staggering holidays, in view of the necessity of keeping war industries at full pressure while ensuring that workers get some holiday relief?

Mr. E. Brown

I have at present nothing to add to the reply which I gave on 14th March to Questions asked by the hon. Members for Dumbarton Burghs (Mr. Kirkwood) and Greenock (Mr. R. Gibson), a copy of which I am sending the hon. Member. I would, however, refer him to the statement, which I welcome, issued this week by the Committee on Workers' Holidays, of which Lord Amulree is chairman, a copy of which I am also sending him.

Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Labour the names of the trade boards and other wage-regulating authorities where orders have been issued requiring employers to provide holidays with pay; the names of those where action is under consideration; and those where no action has been taken?

Mr. Brown

I am having this information extracted and will send it to the hon. Member.
