§ Sir K. WoodAt the present time subsidies on articles of food entering into the Cost-of-Living Index are at the rate of approximately £53,000,000 a year. This figure does not include anything in respect of losses which may be incurred by the Ministry of Food as a result of the increases in price of home agricultural products recently announced.
