Information concerning the number of junior officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who have been recommended by their commanding officers for promotion since the outbreak of war is not readily available, but in all cases where the officer was properly qualified in accordance with the regulations, such recommendations have been approved. New regulations enabling junior Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve officers to be promoted at an earlier stage have recently been brought into force. With regard to the Royal Naval Volunteer Supplementary Reserve, members on432W being called into service become temporary officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.
