THE EARL OF TANKERVILLE

asked His Majesty's Government whether any source other than the people's incomes, savings, or inheritances is being resorted to in order to finance the present war; and if so, whether they will state what other source, its approximate proportion to the total required, and for what reason a statement about such other source has not been made public.

The war is being financed partly by taxation and partly by borrowing. Details of the amounts raised by taxation and borrowing are published regularly in the weekly Exchequer Returns.
