§ Sir G. Foxasked the Secretary of State for Air whether, in serving requisition notices on the owners of a farm in Oxfordshire, his representatives did so without any prior consultation with the owner or occupier; whether in this case the farmer is prevented from obtaining access to the fields severed and which his Department does not want; and whether he will make investigations to see whether the agricultural requirements of the district and of the country can be met by permitting proper cultivation of the proper land?
§ Sir K. WoodIn the case of the site to which I assume the hon. Baronet refers, I am advised that consultation took place between an officer of the Air Ministry and the owner prior to the serving of a requisition notice. On the question of access, the tenant has been asked to state the route over which he would require access and has been informed that every effort will be made to meet him in this matter, subject only to service requirements. I am assured that agricultural considerations are always borne in mind.
