HC Deb 06 February 1940 vol 357 cc59-60W
Mr. Cape

asked the Attorney-General how many times the Cumberland Advisory Committee have met during the year 1939; and what was the date of their last meeting.

The Attorney-General

No meeting of this committee was held in 1939, and the last formal meeting was on 20th November, 1935. But five new names were entered in the Commission of the Peace on 12th December, 1939, upon the recommendation of the advisory committee after consultation through the post. In 1936 and in 1938 fresh names were added to the commission and in every case the advisory committee have been consulted, although not formally called together.
