§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the President of the Board of Education whether he will consider making a grant-in-aid of 1485W the education of nurses as has for many years been done for medical students, in view of the serious difficulty now experienced by the colleges of nursing in carrying on the high standard of teaching of nurses established by them and fostered by the nursing diploma of the London University?
§ Mr. RamsbothamI assume that the hon. Member's reference to colleges of nursing relates to hospitals which are recognised by the General Nursing Council as Training Schools. If so, the question of aiding such hospitals to train nurses appears to fall outside the province of my Department.
