§ Mr. BevinThe Order-in-Council cancelling Monday, 5th August, as a statutory bank holiday expressly provided that the day should be deemed to be a bank holiday for the purposes of the provisions of any agreement (whether oral or in writing) relating to the payment of wages for work done on a bank holiday. So far as I am aware, where agreed conditions614W are in operation they are being generally observed, but I am not in a position to state what payment is being made in other circumstances.
