asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) whether he can state in regard to the exports for the two months ended February, 1940, the principal items accounting for the increase in the case of beverages or cocoa preparations as compared with the corresponding period in 1939;

(2) whether he can state, in regard to the exports of imported merchandise for the two months ended February, 1940, the principal items accounting for the increase in the case of beverages and cocoa preparations as compared with the corresponding period in 1940?

As was stated in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Stourbridge (Mr. R. Morgan) on 20th February, publication of particulars of our trade in individual commodities has been suspended since the outbreak of war.
