§ Colonel Wedgwoodasked the Secretary of State for War what steps he is taking to follow the French example of enlisting refugees in the Army; and whether any steps of a similar nature are being taken in the Colonies, Dominions, and Protectorates?
§ Mr. Hore-BelishaIn Great Britain, as I have already stated, we have at present all the men we need, except in the case of certain classes of tradesmen for whom an appeal has been made. If other men volunteer, who are not due to be called up in the ordinary course, they will be registered, and this will apply to refugees, who may then be called for in limited numbers, if their credentials are satisfactory, as and when required. I regret that I have no information with regard to the last part of the question.
