§ Miss HorsbrughI can assure the hon. Member that my right hon. Friend is anxious to secure the completion of as many houses as possible. Although he has had to request local authorities to postpone the commencement of new houses for the time being the housing position is, as previously stated, under close and continuous review in relation to the demand on building materials and building labour and in the light of the financial position. I may add that my right hon. Friend recently discussed the position with representatives of the operatives and employers in the building trades.
