§ Sir J. AndersonAdvice has already been given to local authorities regarding the amounts which may be paid on account to owners of commercial and other vehicles taken for air-raid precautions purposes, and a further circular was issued yesterday on the subject of similar advance payments for private cars and motor cycles. As soon as final rates have been settled, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport, they will be notified to local authorities.
