§ Mr. Parker
asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a number of postal orders have been lost in the post since they became legal tender; and what steps he is taking to protect the public from theft?
§ Major Tryon
Complaints that postal orders sent by post have not reached the addressee have been received; but at1582W present I have no evidence that such complaints have increased since postal orders became currency. My officers will continue to take all possible steps to detect and prevent theft which may occur in the post. The inland registered letter post is available for the transmission of postal orders and other currency.
