§ Mr. Garro Jonesasked the Secretary for Mines whether he is aware of substantial increases in the price of household coal in Aberdeen, in some cases amounting to at least 12½ per cent. above pre-war price; and whether he will have inquiry made into the price of household coal throughout the country?
§ Mr. LloydI am aware that there have been substantial increases, but according to my information they are less than the1578W hon. Member suggests. I am satisfied that they are due to increases in coastwise freight charges. In answer to the second part of the question the price of household coal throughout the country is receiving constant scrutiny and consideration by my Department.
