§ Mr. Cassellsasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that no adequate arrangements exist in Scotland for the testing of civilian respirators; and if he is prepared to instruct forthwith that all areas shall have a room where respirators can be tested at least twice yearly in an atmosphere of tear-gas whereby leaks, if any, may be ascertained and corrected?
§ Sir J. AndersonI would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave on the 27th September to a question by the hon. Member for Stoke (Mr. E. Smith) regarding the examination of respirators which have been distributed to the public. If the hon. Member has any information showing that this periodical inspection of respirators is not being carried out in any 2127W district, I shall be glad to make inquiry. I do not think that there are sufficient grounds at present for any such further special action as is suggested in the second part of the question.
