§ Mr. J. Griffithsasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he is aware of the fact that the Carmarthenshire Education Committee has rejected a proposal to make arrangements for a mid-day meal in the schools in the county; and whether, having regard to the recommendation in the report on Anti-Tuberculosis Services in Wales, he will endeavour to secure a reconsideration of this matter by the committee?
Mr. Lindsay:A letter has been received from the Carmarthenshire local education authority which shows that the proposed provision of mid-day meals has been deferred for the time being. In view of the importance of this question the Board propose to write to the authority urging that a modified scheme should be introduced.
