Mr. David Adamsasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has a statement to make as to the position in Palestine?
Mr. M. MacDonaldI would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I am 1837W giving to-day to a similar question by the hon. Member for Don Valley (Mr. T. Williams).
§ Mr. T. Williamsasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has any information to give the House as to the position of affairs in Palestine?
Mr. M. MacDonaldSince the outbreak of war there has been an improvement in the security situation in Palestine, although instances of lawless activity by Arab terrorists still occur from time to time. In general, both the Arab and Jewish sections of the community have ranged themselves behind this country in the present emergency, and have shown every desire to co-operate with us in the successful prosecution of the war. His Majesty's Government appreciate most cordially the spirit that has been displayed by the people of Palestine.
