§ Mr. Colmanasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the large number of road fatalities following the institution of the black-out and the shortening period of daylight, he can make arrangements for a series of short broadcast talks advising all classes of road-users as to how to avoid accidents in the new circumstances; and whether, in particular, he can arrange for one of these talks to be given before the Christmas shopping season?
Captain WallacesI have already given a broadcast talk on the use of roads in war-time, and I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend, the Minister for Home Security, as to the desirability of further broadcast talks on this subject. I will certainly consider the suggestion that one of these talks should be given before the Christmas shopping season.
