HC Deb 09 November 1939 vol 353 cc453-4W
Mr. Kennedy

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether his attention has been directed to the lack of adequate means of distribution and marketing methods in the Scottish fishing industry, resulting in a failure to satisfy a keen public demand at a reasonable price covering the cost of production; and whether any action is being taken to prevent the waste of valuable foodstuffs and to control and improve the methods of distribution in the industry?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

According to my information, the normal facilities for distribution and marketing are available to the Scottish fishing industry, but I should be glad to look into any cases in which the contrary may have occurred.
