§ Mr. Grovesasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction which exists in the medical profession over the present method of recruitment of medical men for 53W the Armed Forces; and whether, to avoid discontent, and to secure efficiency and economy, he will see that the respective Government Departments deal direct with applications?
§ Mr. ElliotI have been asked to reply. As regards the first part of the question I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave him on 26th October. As regards the second part, it is considered that recruitment by direct application, as suggested in the question, would be less satisfactory to all concerned.
