HC Deb 02 November 1939 vol 352 cc2151-2W
Sir J. Wardlaw-Milne

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he will give a list of all the controllers appointed by him, and, in such cases as these gentlemen were not previously Government officials, their business interests prior to their assuming their present duties; and to what extent these interests continue?

Mr. Lloyd

I have appointed no controllers either of the coal or petroleum industries. The Government organisation for dealing with matters relating to the distribution and rationing of coal and oil is centred in the Mines Department and there is a regional organisation to deal with these questions locally.
