HC Deb 02 November 1939 vol 352 c2152W
Mr. Mitchell

asked the Secretary for Mines what representations he has received from the Coal Merchants' Federation in favour of the dropping of coal rationing; and whether he is aware that in many cases coal merchants' yards are so heavily stocked that no further supplies can be received?

Mr. Lloyd

I have received a letter from the Coal Merchants' Federation on this subject. As I indicated on Tuesday, I am now engaged in examining the state of coal stocks and consumption. Until my inquiries are complete I am not in a position to make any further statement.
