§ Mr. Perkinsasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider relaxing the policy followed by his Department of preventing members of the Royal Air Force Reserve or Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve from being employed as full-time instructors by the Admiralty in order to allow these reservists to obtain full-time employment and pension rights?
§ Sir K. WoodIt would not be possible to agree to any general relaxation of the obligations of the members of the Reserve of Air Force Officers and the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve without prejudice to the purpose for which these Reserves have been created, which is to supply personnel to the Royal Air Force in emergency. In order, however, to assist the Air Branch of the Royal Navy, nearly 50 selected officers and non-commissioned officers have been released by my Department for whole-time duty with that branch.
