HC Deb 11 May 1939 vol 347 c709W
Mr. Gallacher

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the growing practice among insurance companies of repudiating policies after the clients' death on the ground that they had been issued without the full knowledge of the medical history of the deceased; and whether he will consider the introduction of legislation to stop this practice?

Mr. Stanley

I am not aware of any growing practice such as the hon. Member suggests and I see no reason for considering the introduction of legislation on the subject. If, however, the hon. Member has evidence of such a practice, I shall be glad to receive it.
