HC Deb 16 March 1939 vol 345 c640W
Mr. Kennedy

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state the number of skilled and unskilled labour in the county of Fife now registered as unemployed, and the number registered on the corresponding date of last year?

Mr. E. Brown,

pursuant to his reply (OFFICIAL REPORT, 2nd March, 1939; col. 1424, Vol. 344), supplied the following statement:

At 13th February, 1939, there were 10,142 unemployed persons, aged 14 and over, on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Fifeshire; the corresponding figure for 14th February, 1938, was 9,914. I regret that statistics are not available as to the numbers of skilled and unskilled workers, respectively, included in these figures.
