§ Mr. Higgsasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that a crossing week was recently organised in Birmingham with the object of emphasising the rights of the pedestrian and the motorist; and whether he will advise local authorities to take similar steps in other districts, particularly in London?
§ Captain WallaceYes, Sir. I welcome the steps which have been taken in Birmingham to educate the public in the proper use of pedestrian crossings. If, as I hope, this experiment has successful results, I will certainly consider the desirability of drawing the attention of other local authorities, including those in London, to Birmingham's example.
