§ Sir F. Sanderson
asked the Lord Privy seal what is to be the position as regards compensation for injury or death sustained by persons engaged on air-raid precautions work in a voluntary capacity in their own time for their employers, in view of the fact that they would presum- 618W ably not be included under the provisions of the Employers' Liability Act and that, as they are not working for local councils, compensation would not be made out of public funds?
§ Sir J. Anderson
Any volunteers training or being trained in industry in the circumstances stated by the hon. Member will come within the scope of the scheme which the Treasury are to make under Clause 63 of the Civil Defence Bill when it has passed into law. The fact that they are not members of a local authority service will not exclude them from the scheme.
