§ Mr. Sextonasked the Lord Privy Seal whether volunteers for national service injured in course of training and/or during practice will be compensated; and on whom will fall the liability for such compensation?
§ Mr. Lunnasked the Lord Privy Seal whether a voluntary fireman in training for air-raid precaution service is killed or injured during training will he or his dependants get compensation, and on what conditions?
§ Sir J. AndersonThe answer is in the affirmative. Hitherto the matter has been dealt with under policies of insurance taken out by local authorities; but the basis on which the risk should in future be borne is under consideration and I hope to be in a position to give full details of the scheme at a very early date.
Mr. V. Adamsasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he can make an interim statement as to the response to the voluntary National Service Scheme?
§ Sir J. AndersonI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for East Fife (Mr. Henderson Stewart).
