§ Mr. Gallacherasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that a deadlock has been reached between the Fife County Council and the Lochgelly District Council as to which authority 756W shall accept responsibility for the maintenance of that portion of Cartmore Road which falls outside the boundaries of the burgh of Lochgelly, and that in consequence the road has fallen into a serious state of disrepair; and whether he will intervene to settle with the two authorities as to where responsibility lies?
§ Mr. BurginCartmore Road, Lochgelly, is not at present a county road repairable by the county council. It is a parish road which the district council, as successor to the parish council, have power to repair, but they are under no obligation to do so. The question is one for local settlement and I have no authority to intervene.
