HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 cc1303-4W
Mr. Stokes

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he is aware that at Hull there exists an organisation called the Hull Fish Manure Company, of which many of the trawler owners are directors; and whether he will give instructions that no edible surplus fish is to be sent to that factory until everyone has had enough?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I am aware of the facts mentioned in the first part of the hon. Member's question. I understand that no fish is sent to the factory for which a market for human consumption is available. In these circumstances there is no reason for issuing instructions of the Kind suggested in the last part of the question.
