§ Mr. Liddallasked the Minister of Supply whether there is a full supply of range-finders to meet present requirements; and, if the supply of all 662W types of optical instruments is inadequate, will he invite a committee of Members of this House to ascertain the cause of the shortage and fix responsibility for the lack of foresight?
§ Mr. BurginThe stock of range-finders is more than sufficient to meet present requirements; as regards the second part of the question, it is not the case that the supply of all types of optical instruments is inadequate. Over the greater part of the field, supplies are coming forward adequately but in some directions there is ground for apprehension and in those cases steps are being taken to meet a shortage which has been caused by recent approval of greatly increased service requirements.
