Miss Wardasked the Secretary of State for Air how many staff of all grades have been engaged since 1st September; how 666W Central Register. A large number of these had already been earmarked for service before the setting up of the Central Register, but 16, of whom eight were women, were actually recruited through the Register. None was recruited through the Women's Employment Federation Bureau. Most of the balance of 312 were in clerical and typing grades and were recruited, in the ordinary course, through the Ministry of Labour and National Service.
